I'm doing an animation where many blocks fall from the sky and fall side by side to form a solid shape. Here's a small scale test that I animated manually, but I'm trying to do this with hundreds of blocks so it's much more time consuming now.

Is there any way to randomize the falling of multiple objects?

One way to do it, if it's okay for the cubes to intersect, is to use a cloner with plane and random effectors. The random effector influences the clone weight so the movement isn't too regular, while the plain effector with linear falloff causes the clones to drop into the cube shape.

Here's another possibility also using effectors with a cloner:

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll admit that your techniques are above my level, but I'm dissecting your files and figuring it out slowly.
