Grayscale transition in Cinema 4D Animation
by Sabrina Yanezgioa on Jan 25, 2016 at 12:47:44 pm
I have been looking for a solution to this problem, but cant seem to find the right question to ask.
I am doing an animation where the lights are turning off slowly. I have a dark gray background with a spot light in the middle. When i render the animation, there is a very bad transition between the different grays. You can see on these images i share how the animations turns out to be and how it should actually be. Any ideas how I can solve this problem?

I can't see your example image due to restrictions on the network where I work (you could upload them to the COW, which I can see).
However, from your description it sounds like something called "banding". There's a long and complicated explanation for why it occurs, but the most important thing to know is that adding noise can make it go away.
What format are you rendering it into from C4D? That could also make a difference.
