Lighting Issue

Hey guys,

Forgive me if this has already been answered or if this is a stupid question...but I'm fairly new to C4D and unfortunately the company I work for only has R12. I'm currently rendering smoke and snow particles, as if there were a blizzard, and am having a little trouble with lighting. I have lights in my scene that illuminate like lightning (flashes on and off) but the grey smoke particles still show up even when all of the lights are off. I also had a similar issue with the logo text, the fillet caps were still being illuminated even though no lights were active. Is this a compositing tag? Or some render setting I'm missing?

Here is my Project File if you'd like to download it: https://goo.gl/8sMTpA

Anything helps.

Thanks!
Garner

check Use Illumination in the Pyrocluster material Illumination tab - it then takes lights into account rather than lighting itself
