Is it possible to add a noise texture to hair when rendering with the Physical Render? I'm able to get good results with texture mapping in a standard render, but when attempting a physical render the texture doesn't read as it should.

Not sure if it's a bug or a limitation, but it doesn't seem to work.

the help says a limitation of Physical is that hair renders much slower, no multipass with hair - my test showed it does work (but much crisper noise not the same blur of Standard) but only in a picture viewer render not in the editor

I found that if you just instance geometry under the Generate tab, that will be the best solution. That way you can bypass the hair tag and create a regular material.
