Matte Shadow "Texture" - Cinema 4D problem
by Janos Richter on Jun 23, 2015 at 9:19:17 pm
i am a user from 3DS Max, but for a special project i needed to use C4D. I am finished with animating and lightning etc. an now i want to render. Its a 3Dtracked shot with minecraft cubes on the ground from a garage. I want the blocks to throw shadows to the ground. I created a plane as ground, but now i can't find a way, to make this plane to an object which just recieves shadows and just the shadows are visible. This plugin "Shadow Catcher" doesnt worked for me, may because i used the Greyscalegurilla light kit?
Can anyone help me?

You could render a shadow pass and use an object buffer (in the compositing tag) to add the shadows in post. So you would use the object buffer pass as a luma matte to isolate the floor and multiply the shadow pass over that. Precompose that and multiply it over your background.
