Cogwheel Object Pressure Angle Conundrum
on May 28, 2015 at 3:58:31 am

Hi all, I am trying to make a follow focus gear ring in cinema, but am having a hard time getting the teeth on my gear to angle correctly.

On the Cogwheel Object there is Pressure Angle, but I can't change it past a certain point. In my case 10.389. I need my gear teeth to angle farther than this degree as a follow focus gearing is closer to 16-20 degrees.

Anyone know how to force the Pressure Angle to go further, or a quick way to, after "current state to object" selecting all the teeth spline points and angling them further?

I have to stay at the .8mm Module setting as this is industry standard for follow focus gearing.

I really want to do this non destructively and I have to imagine there is a way to make pointy gear teeth in cinema as they are all over the real world.

To get my exact gear, the numbers in my cogwheel object are as follows
Lock Radius-NO check
Undercut-NO check
Root Radius -4.786
Addendum Radius-4.96
Pitch Radius-4.88
Diametral Pitch-12.5
Pressure Angle-10.389
All Mesurements, where applicable, are cm

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you
