Hello guys,

Just starting out with Cinema4D and I really do want to keep as many objects as mesh, not polygons. I need to make this watch pin, as so I need it to have some thickness, and I do not want to make a double sided spline.

Any ideas? I use 1 extrude, to extrude the spline sideways, but the second extrude upwards, doesn't have an effect. I used MoExtrude with success, but it does not allow precise control on how much to extrude.

1) Spline

2) Extrude sideways

3) Extrude upwards, no effect

Thanks!

Hey Brian,

Sorry about that and sorry for not replying.

Basically, I have a spline, which I can extrude in any dirrection with an Extrude object. But then, if I want to give it some thickness in the other 90 degrees - which is the best way going about this?

I had success just doing proper double splines and then using Loft on them,or using MoExtrude, but that gives small control over it.

I was wondering if there was any other easy way.

Thank you!

if you need to keep the spline in the extrude (and not make it editable) then put the Extrude into a Cloth Object and give the Cloth Object a Thickness greater than 0 (the default). If you can make the object editable then just use extrude on the polys of the sweep (with Create Caps turned on).
