Changing Pivot Point of a Character Skeleton

I'm pretty new to Cinema 4D so hopefully this isn't too dumb of a question.
I downloaded this fully rigged character model and am having issues changing the point on which it pivots. Meaning, I'm trying to animate him stepping out of a car -seated to standing position. I've got his feet on the ground and am now trying to figure out how I can make him pivot at his knees and ankles to achieve the standing up movement. I want it to look like he's actually grounded on the floor I've made. Is there a way to achieve this? Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks!
