I'm setting up a little musically reactive animation that primarily uses X Particles. My emitters generate particles that have trails attached to them. I'm wondering if there is a way to have the trails do two things:

1) blow in the wind
2) stay active and visible after the particles have died.

The second isn't so crucial, but I'd really like to accomplish the first. I've tried using both the x particles wind and the wind effector in C4d to no avail. The trails are using a hair material.

Thanks!

As to question 1, it seems to work here if I create a hair object linked to xpTrail, set root as Spline Guides, and use a standard particle wind object.

Thanks! Yeah that does seem to work just fine. I wish there was a way to not render the x particles trails and just the hair trails instead, maybe through TP and Xpresso?

Why would you need to render the x-particle trails?

Occurs to me another way to go about it would be to trace the x-particle trails with a MoSpline and apply the C4D particle forces to the MoSpline.
