I need to simulate a falling feather. I'm planning/experimenting using a softbody plane with an alpha channelled texture on it. The catch is, the feather needs to land on its tip. Any suggestions on how I might tackle this? I've attached a mockup of the final position (ignore the weird product position smudge). The client also provided a video of how they'd like to have the feather falling.
As usual I'm busy googling/experimenting & RTFMing, but any pointers would be very gratefully appreciated! I can provide more detail if useful : )
the ref looks hand animated not dynamic - and dynamics are not easy to get to go where you want, they go where the dynamics says to go. You could do it backwards start with it point down then blow it upward then run it backwards in post but animating by hand could be easier.
