There are loads of tutorials on how to export tracking data of a camera between C4D and AE but I can't find anything on how to export the tracking data of an object from C4D to AE.

I have a bunch of spheres that move around randomly and I want to create a null in AE that is attached to one (or a number of) the individual spheres, but how can I export that data from C4D to AE to create my null that's attached to the object(s)?

Any ideas?

Put external compositing tags on the animated objects (I think you have to bake them to keyframes). Then check the "export 3D data" box in the Render>Save>Compositing Project settings. When you save out your .aec file and open it in AE, you'll see animated nulls representing your objects' position.

I didn't need to bake them when I tried it, I think by checking the 'Solids' in the compositing tag took care of that for me and it just created a solid in my AE file with the key frames already applied. Thanks though.

I have a tutorial :

Combining Cinema 4D and After Effects

It's from a few versions ago, but the process is the same.

Hope it helps. If you have any questions, let me know.
