I am a long time 3ds Max user looking into Cinema 4D. One thing I cannot seem to find anywhere is a spherical camera option natively in C4D. I know Vray for C4D has a spherical cam option (override FOV to 360 degrees etc.) but C4D does not seem to have this as standard?
I would like to create equirectangular 360x180 (2x1) spherical images for VR work and such. Max is a decent 3D program but I cut my teeth on C4D many years ago and I love the way it works and the direction they are going with it.
I can do this easily in Max using:
Mental Ray: WrapAround camera lens shader
Vray: Spherical Camera
FinalRender: Spherical Camera
There have been posts about how to do this using QTVR but that does not produce the correct results and is extremely cumbersome if you have many cameras to render out.
