Maxon C4D... How to get a colored logo in and extruded for export to Ae

I have been around and around in circles to try and get a colored logo from Photoshop CC into C4D, because apparently Ae no longer accepts 3D files from Photoshop.
It seems that there is a massive amount of stuffing around to get this done.
The logo is for a project an Ae which needs to be tracked as a 3D object in a scene, but I am sure I can do that fairly easily.
I have tried making a path around the logo and exporting it as an Ai file and into C4D. This works if I only want an outline with no fill. Extruding it works but not with the accurate fill.
The trouble is getting the original colors in the original places onto the face of the extruded nurb accurately. C4D does not seem to support transparency, all transparent areas in any format become white also.
Any help would be awesome,
Better still if Adobe Photoshop actually worked as seamlessly as advertised with Ae this would not be such a pain. There has to be an easy way.
