How to convert a polygon selection into a null controller?

Hi guys, first of all let me tell how is the situation, i need to export a weapon made of various parts and let another animator animate in 3Ds max, so i can' t use the cluster modyfier that probably won' t work in 3ds max, my question is...how to in one single object that have different parts...set nulls controllers for every part but let the object remain one single thing? is it possible? it's very important i' m going mad, i really appreciate if there's someone with an answer out there (sorry for my bad english).
