I have a large plane that I applied a patterened metal to. I would like the edges of the plane to feather off into a transparency. It would be like in After Effects, if I had created a feathered mask around a solid.
I know I could create a matte and apply it to the alpha of the Material. But I'm not sure if this would work since I'm tiling the material.
you can mix textures, the pattern goes in one texture and Transparency goes in the second one (you can only mix transparency not Alpha) or you can do it in one texture by using the Projector channel shader to tile the pattern but still have a non-tiled alpha.
