Xplode with flat geometry?

Hi, I'm using pFragment to break up some objects but they always break up into boring rectangular polygons, wondering if there's a way to use Xplode to break up the mesh into more interesting pieces WITHOUT adding the additional geometry that it likes to add to make the pieces into "chunks". Or if there's another plugin that will do this that'd be great too. I'm using the Knife tool right now but thinking there must be a better way.

Thanks!

Thrausi (by Nitroman) will break a flat plane without adding anything extra

Cool, now what if I want to break up say, a cube, but only have the surface divided into new polygons without creating extra geometry, will Thrausi do that?

not directly (I think but I could be wrong) but I would make the cube editable in that case with Separate Surfaces checked to make a null with all the faces as children then select all the children and run Thrausi on them which would break them all.
If a cube is just an example then Disconnect the parts you need as surfaces then run Mesh/Conversion/Polygon Groups to Objects
