Hello All,

I have basic knowledge of C4D R11.5 and After Effects cs5.5 and I

am learning it myself form internet tutorials. Now,I am trying to

import C4D projects in AE.

In this process I have one problem. I am not able to import

External compositing solid in AE correctly. Let me saw you

snapshots so that you can understand my exact problem.

1. I created a plane of 400*400

2. I gave external compositing tag to this plane and made 350*350

red solid.

3. I import this project to AE and below result is coming

But I don't want this result because direction of red solid is not

matching with plane.

Why this is happning??? What I am doing wrong?? I want that red

solid 350*350 in the direction of plane 400*400.

Can I see the posotion and direction of the red solid before

Thanks in advance..

This has to do with the way AE treats the coordinate axis of a solid layer. The face of the solid is always pointing down the Z axis, which is the blue axis in C4D. You'll need to make sure that your plane has its blue Z axis pointing in the direction you want your AE solid facing.

If the plane is still a primitive you can do this by setting its orientation to either +Z or -Z and then rotating the plane back into the correct orientation.

If it's not a primitive then you'll need to use the axis tool to rotate the Z axis into the correct orientation.
