C4D to Nuke

Any tips on getting a C4D scene to Nuke?
I've found a really odd work around involving baking all the camera's animation curves, then copying them onto a cube, and exporting the whole scene as an FBX. But that makes one heavy FBX, takes forever to read it into Nuke. From there I'm (eventually) able to copy the animation values from the cube to my camera. After which, it's time to slowly unpack each of the geo layers from the FBX. As you can imagine, it takes a while.
I heard that C4D r14 had "...a new seamless connection to Nuke..." though I'm struggling to see exactly what this is.
I'm wondering if I might be better off exporting a point/position pass of the camera, if that's even possible?
Any help, tips or advice is greatly anticipated and appreciated!!
