I am new to 3d modeling, and not sure how to create a polygon according to best practice. See attached image. This is the side of a (very thick) car door shape extending backwards, and will be added to a hypernurbs object. Which alternative is most correct? Or would you have done it in a different way?

neither is more correct, they will just end up with different shapes inside a HyperNurb. Whichever gives you the results you need is correct in general, although it is best to avoid triangles (if you can) in a HN you don't have any in either version.
