What is the best rendering setting to use for editing in Final Cut Pro X?

I tried rendering at: 720 x 480, but for some reason, when importing into Final Cut Pro X, it reads the properties as 640 x 480.

I've tried several different setting with results that just aren't that good. While the exported animation looks great playing in Quicktime, in Final Cut Pro it looks not as good.. almost as if anti-aliasing wasn't turned on, edges are jagged and such.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sound like a D1 v. Square Pixel issue?

Are you rendering square pixels and importing into a D1 FCP project?

To tell you the truth, I'm really not sure.

In C4D I have my output set to:
Preset: NTSC DV Widescreen
720 x 480

Film Aspect: 1.8
Pixel Aspect: 1.2 - D1/DV NTSC Widescreen (1.2)
Frame Rate: 29.97

It doesn't look like I have anything set to square pixels.

Similar, but different problem.

In C4d use DV but not widescreen.

The FCP is straight 4:3 720x480 but it looks like you are C4d rendering 720x480 flagged for widescreen 16:9.
