I'm working on a project that involves model of a bag connected to a rigid handle.

I "connected" the bag to the handle with a "belt" tag as instructed by Adam Trachtenberg in a previous post of mine.

In my current animation, this "bag" object I have set with a Cloth simulation... when the animation begins, the bag begins bouncing slightly. I tried playing around with all the settings in the Cloth tag, set bounce to 0% and such, no luck. The only thing that seems to have the effect I'm looking for is the "Relax" button, however, this then seems to take away all the other desired effects of the bag interacting with colliders and such.

My first thought is the iterations need to go up. Try something like 6 or seven.
In addition to that let it simulate past that initial fall and then use the Initial State option from the dresser tab.

Thanks for your reply Randy.

I already tried your suggestion about simulating it past the initial fall and then setting that as the initial state. The object still starts off as though there are forces effecting it before it comes to rest again.

Changing the ITERATIONS works.
The bounce is gone around 18 but looks perfect at 25.

Just for future reference: Cloth is really sensitive to the actual mesh, you want your polygons to be as uniform as possible. Also you can get different "deformation" by rotating the normals of random ploys.
