How to morph/transform an Object?
on Apr 6, 2012 at 12:31:46 pm

I need to make a morphing-like animation with a logo (actually a "W") that transforms to a straight rubber band
i tried different things but now i dont know what to do further

i build the logo with 4-point-polygones, extruded them and beveled the whole thing

the animation should look like this in the end:
(i am using cinema 4d r12!)

now for the transformation i tried the following things:

- point-morphing (the poly-logo just has too many points to make a smooth rubber band)

- rigging/joints (rigging the whole thing works, but its really messed up in the corners of the "W" - as you can see, the stroke-weights of the "W" are quite different, so it doesnt bend smoothly)

- combination of rigging and mesh-deformer (which is propably the closest to the thing i want - but i cant form a smooth rubber band with the mesh either)

now as you can see im stuck here..
hope you can help me,
i really appreciate every answer!

(please excuse my english!)
thanks, Joszef
