I have a video wall with many different .mp4 videos mapped to materials and then placed into each "tv". It is a very simple scene and should render quick but I am finding it takes longer to "prepare" a frame during rendering than it does to actually render it. I assume this is because of all the different frames from each video it has to load but I am wondering if there is a setting that can speed this up? I have a core i7 920 and 6 gigs of ram. The videos are on a raid 0 array.

I have turned off AA, AO, and GI.

Thanks,

Lee

It would likely be faster to turn all your movies into image sequences. Sequences always load faster (because it doesn't have to 'scroll' to the right frame) so with a bunch of movies - particularly if they are long - it could take a while.

If the screens are flat, why don't you just set up some nulls and bring it into After Effects and apply the video footage there?

Best regards,
