Trying to Make Puffy Text

I've created extruded text and am trying to give is a roundness and puffiness. I plan on applying a snow texture to it after I get the modeling figured out.

When I drop my text into a hypernurbs the results are underwhelming. The transition to the caps remains rather sharp. I've played around with changing the amount of geometry and the type of geometry on the text with unsatisfactory results. Giving the text super rounded fillet caps doesn't bring the overall look to a bloated, puffiness that I am going after. I would like organic looking, smooth and puffy text.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Kevin Camin

Unfortunately in order to get really good quality you need to model the text instead of extruding splines. That said, you might get decent results from an extrude if you make the text splines editable, subdivide them a lot (or use the knife tool to get even point distribution) and then set your extrude caps to regular grid>quadrangles.
