How to split text fields without using extrude nurbs?
on Sep 19, 2011 at 7:36:02 pm

hey!
i am currently working on a short C4D text animation!
i used a mographed text, split it up and used the mograph effector "random" on it.
as i want my top text field in red, i tried using extrude nurbs on it, but as i use it my "random" effector gets useless = theres no such a effect anymore.

is there a alternativ to the extrude nurbs, or a way without destroying the animation?

once you made it editable it wasn't a MoGraph object anymore so the Random won't work. Take the extruded letters (just the letters not the nulls they are in) and put them in a Fracture object and apple the Random to that.

if i put them into a fracture object they front and back caps are on a different position as the rest of the letter is...

I know you got it to work but just for the sake of the thread, it should work if the Fracture's Mode is set to Straight or Explode and Connect
