I wonder if anyone can lend a helping hand or have any suggestions. Basically in Cinema 4D, I'm trying to produce some small cubes which flies into the centre of screen to form a large Rubix cube type of shape, it holds for a few seconds and then the group of cubes explodes out but the cubes comes crashing back to the centre and explodes to white. (Which I'll do in AFX)
So, I placed a cube into the 'Cloner Object', set the grid to 3x3x3. Then I tried to use the 'Random Effector' but I cannot see if I have any control to it.
I could animate each cube to the desire look but I were wondering if I can use MoGraph or use Attractor settings or something similar.
I think you've got the right idea using a cloner and random effector, but you would have to add a dynamics>rigid body tag to keep the cubes from intersecting each other. At the same time, you need the effector to be able to control the objects, so it's not 100% simulation.
You can do that by increasing the Follow settings in the dynamics tag's Force tab, and by keyframing dynamics on and off. You also have to pay attention to the dynamic transition setting which controls the transition between dynamic and mograph control.
Thank you very much for replying. I had a look around in the settings and find that the fallout tag, kind of working where it animates the different levels of cubes. However, the cubes are colliding though each other which you mentioned and I am looking into it now.
The file attached doesn't seem to work; it says 'Unknown File Format!' Maybe it's to do with different version? I've got Cinema 4D 11.5.
Hey Adam T,
I downloaded the latest version of Cinema 4D in order to see your file attached and I can see how it works! Just wanted to say thank you very much, I've modified my existing project to your project and it's perfect.
