Max BaxterCompositing?
by on Jul 15, 2015 at 5:43:15 pm

I'm trying to set up a scene that will have a video playing in it. for the purpose of time effiency am I best off applying a chromekey to the TV screen that I want to set up with some marks on it to set up the 4 corner pin tool later on in after effects or should I spend the time in 3DS max to render out the entire scene with the video already in the scene?

It's personal preference but if your scene isn't moving with a camera I'd definitely choose to comp the video in afterwards.

Can't the screen just be black and then you move the corner pin to to fit without the need for markers?

If it is moving there's also Max2AE plug-in from Boomerlabs which will allow you to place a plane where the screen is and that will export the screen as composition to After Effects with camera etc.
