UV Map showing in viewport, but not when rendered

My box looks with a UV map looks good in viewport, but when I render it it's all grey. I am a newbie in 3ds max, but I'm a pretty good googler and I just can't get my head around this. What am I doing wrong?
Any ideas, someone?

I'm using the 2013 version of 3ds Max.

Try going over your settings in the Material Editor, where the texture information for Alpha is (I'm not in front of Max right now, so the exact location is hazy). What shows in the viewport is never exact, so there may be a setting in the ME that's throwing off the final render - probably one of the several Alpha Channel settings.

Thanks a lot for your response! I dived right in and tried to change the few options I found that seemed to affect alpha in ME, but that didn't help.
The Material is Arch & Design, does that have anything to do with it, or is it the renderer?

I'm not sure about the renderer, but it would be a quick try to go from the Mental Ray renderer to the standard Max renderer. You might also do a check on the glossiness settings, and the self-illumination settings - see here:

may be you have inverted the map in the output section of the bitmap.
