Batch Render Fail

First off I'm using Max 9...that might be my first problem, but anyways...

I'm rendering off of a file that has a "Missing External File". The path to this external file leads to my old computer, which no longer exists. As a result, when I go to Batch Render, it continuously fails again and again.

I have tried relinking the file, which is a texture, to something similar, and it still fails to Batch Render. No matter how many times I try to fudge it so that it thinks it's on my new computer, IT WON'T LINK.

I would appreciate any advice...except telling me to upgrade to a newer version.

Have you tried using the new file, but changing it's name to exactly that of the original file? Of course you want to keep a copy of the replacement file in a different location. You could also try adding the path of the file to your custom user paths, or duplicating the path name from your old machine exactly. I'm on Max 2011, so I don't know the limitations of your version.

Have you tried stipping the maps?
