I've been editing game characters and reimporting the edited characters back into the game. It usually works fine but I have one that is causing me some problems.
I don't know where the material came from and I cannot find any hint of it in 3ds Max (I'm a newbie to 3ds) and when I import the character into UDK the head has a bizarre texture/appearance. This ruins the character in the game (Mass Effect 3) because the texture applied gets distorted by the material. How can I set this to default?
Here's an image of the upper body in UDK, imported as a psk exported from 3ds Max. UDK applies a generic blue/grey square pattern to untextured models. In this case her body is blue/grey patterned but her head...what is this? She appears flat grey in 3ds and UDK says no materials assigned yet here she is with bizarre skin effects on her head:
