I'm stucked here with a material library problem.
I tried to open a library that I usually used without any
Only now, once I open it (or any other one), the library is
empty. There is no materials in it, where it should have dozens.
I don't understand, because I tried to reboot, to open new scenes, to open scenes where the material was, there is nothing...
I'm calling your help on this one!
Thanks in advance
when I open library that contains only one material, there is no problem...
There are a couple of possibilities - some depending on the version of Max you have (you don't mention that), and some depending on whether these are Mental Ray libraries or not. Your material browser shows Mental Ray libraries only when Mental Ray is turned on as your active render engine. That could be a possibility.
It's also possible that when you created a new project, Max created a whole new set of folders, which would, of course, be empty depending on what directory you were in when you created the project. Take a look in your Preferences, as well, to see what paths you have set up to access the libraries - that might be your problem.
I'm sorry, you're right, I was too vague.
I'm using 3DSMAX 2012 (64 bits version) and VRAY 2.0
The library is a vray mat lib I guess (it's an evermotion
library, that I could open without any problems until then).
I checked the paths, but it doesn't seem to be the cause
I'm not a VRay user, so I can only guess at the Max causes - but is it possible that the 64-bit version of Max is causing the problem? Is VRay 64-bit compatible? Have you tried opening the same project in the 32-bit version of Max and got the same results? Also, have you asked this question in VRay tech support? Sorry not to be more specific...
