Booleaned walls or booleaned extruded splines are hollow

Hi I'm using the boolean function to cut out some doors & windows on a pre-made wall in 3d max (this wall is from the AEC extended section). When the windows are cut out the walls are hollow. This also happens with extruded splines and extruded cad imports. Is it something in my settings or is there anyway to enable the walls & extruded objects to remain solid if they are booleaned ?

I believe that the AEC function also includes doors and windows, which, when you drop them into place, will cut the hole and take care of that problem for you. Of course, if you want just the "holes" where you cut the rough openings, you might want to Convert to Editable Poly and then just cap the holes.

I don't know of a shortcut which will automatically cap any holes left by Boolean operations, but there may be some scripts that will do it.
