 | 3DS Max scene textures

Hi all, I am a bona fide noob with 3DS Max. I am going through a lot of beginner tutorials. At the same time I also downloaded a city scene just to see how something complex would look before rendering. I notice the roads, a few buses, and one building are textured, but everything else is without texture. The image maps for all the buildings are in the maps folder so I'm a bit clueless as to why everything else is gray. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
John

If they are visible when you render they are probably just not switched on in materials.
In the material popup ensure the 'Show Shaded Material in Viewport' icon is selected - for each individual material.
Also if it is a particularly complex scene - you may find you don't have enough ram for the viewport to display everything at once. Only way to solve this is upgrade your PC memory.
