Hi, I just got Vray and want to have a photo of a person with transparent background (chroma keyed) in my 3d max scene.

The scene is a vray scene.

I am trying hard to do this and I know its possible.

The pic I have in photoshop fully chroma keyed but its a psd, easy to save it as a png or other format.

How do I get the pic on a plane in Max and have the plane be transparent except for the pic?

Any tips will be great.

Ali Quintana

Hi Ali -

Just do your keying in Photoshop, save it as a .png file, which will preserve the alpha channel, then apply it to the plane in Max. I don't know VRay, but I assume it will preserve the transparency when you render.
