Freezing an animation

I posted this one eight months ago, and didn't get a nibble!!!!

I created a particle system.
I then used Super Spray on Object Type rollout.
Get a nice spray of particles using the timer.
I want to keep this spray at a particular frame without the animation - is this possible?

Someone wrote elsewhere "key every object in the scene at the frame you want to pause the animation
delete the keys from every other frame."

Is this relevant? If so, how do you do it?

I think we have the same question. I want to be able to freeze the particles while moving the camera around them.

Hey, setting the speed to "0" might work...

Not sure about the camera, but I did figure that if you set your first frame to a negative number, ie -90 instead of 0 then the particle spray, whatever, is "frozen" at the initial position.
But at some point I am going to need the camera as well, so am going to have to work on this one!!!!
