I'm working on a project where I need to animate some dots exactly the same way as the attached youtube video.

Would anybody be able to give me some quick tips on how to do this?

I'm new to 3ds max so I really appreciate any help from the experts. :)

I would suggest using three separate paths and particle generators. One for the single path outside the box. One for the top, angled path which changes angle at the second blade, and one for the bottom, angled path which does a mirror image of the second path.

The particles can be made do whatever you want to, but you've got to do some fast learning on Particle Flow - it appears daunting, but with event-based particle animation you can make them do what you want.

Hi Joe, thanks for the idea. I went with your suggestion and was able to re-create that scene using pflow and deflectors.

In the end, I used two particle systems and overlapped them at the source and then applied a bunch of deflectors to each system to get them to move in the direction I wanted.

Thanks for all your help.
