Newbie to 3DSmax here.

Can anyone point me into a direction to be able with one bitmap node:
- Output just RGB without Alpha
- Output just the Luma or Brightness
- Output just the Alpha in B&W

This would be great to pack all my texturing need into a single image file.

Thanks

In the material editor you have an output section where you can do all of the above (plus more) using the curve editor. You can drag your bitmap to different material slots to make differing base layers.
