I've reveived some models from a client, made with 3D Studio Max. I need to get these files to Cinema 4D so I installed 3DS Max on a bootcamp partition on my mac. I figured the best way to get the models in C4D was to export them as .obj files? Or is there a better way which INCLUDES the materials too?
Anyway, the problem is that the .obj files have some polygon issues when opened in Cinema 4D. I attached a screenshot below to illustrate the problem. Some points seem to get connected to triangles, and there's way to many to just correct them manually... Where is this going wrong? I've never used 3DS before so the export settings are pretty much default (the only settings I altered were to export for Mac and Cinema 4D).
