I find it hard to believe that Apple hasn't created a 64-bit version of Quicktime, but I can see on my Vista 64-bit version of Max that there's no option to output QT. When I run the 32-bit version, there it is.

Can it be that Apple is this far behind the curve, or am I missing something? Thanks.

Hi Joe,

I had this issue as well but I did get it resolved. Sorry to say I can't remember where I found it but there is a way to get a QT output from 3DS Max 64-Bit. I'm actually rendering a QT from Max as we speak. Let me take a look and see if I can find the QT 64 bit version for ya.

Todd

Thanks Todd -

I'm in the middle of a big 3D project, so I haven't had much time to sniff around myself. I'm beginning to wonder whether it's just the fact that 64-bit Max lives in a different "Program Files" folder from the 32-bit version ("Program Files (x86)" - or something like that).

If you can find the answer let me know, and if I find it in the meantime, I'll post it here. I have great results with Targa sequences as well, so that's the option I'm using right now, then doing QT in After Effects. Thanks.

I'd be very much interested in a solution apart from using this script:
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/render-mov-maker

It's a render script, which is ok to use when rendering,
but I used to use quicktime .mov output for animatics and viewport previewing animations quickly.

And I'd definately celebrate if there was a way to bring this option back.. :)

Please share your possible workarounds please!

Thanks,
Attila
