[Question] Setting Up Refernce Planes
on Sep 5, 2010 at 8:12:28 pm

Hey all just a technical problem here, So recently I've followed multiple tutorials step by step to set up these images but I always end up with a blank plane.

Heres what I got...

-Currently on "Max" initial settings
-Create my plane the same dimensions as my image
-Change the line segments to 1 , 1
-Open material editore and set "Self Illumination" to 100
-Check diffuse pick bitmap and set my .jpg
-Check "Show Standerd Map In Viewport"
-Check "Assign Material To Selection"

This is what i ended up with....

Any Suggestions would be helpful ive been trying to fix this for awhile. =P

Have you followed the tutorial provid in 3DS max itself yet? I haven't got 3DS max from where i'm typing this, but the tutorials in 3DS max itself are pretty good. At home i'll look into it.

Id it just this reference plane or is it alll tetures?

A couple of ideas;

Check Viewport configuration(plus sign in top left of viewport) that textures are not disabled.

Check graphics card drivers are upto date.

Try converting file to different format.

Check what renderer you have selected.
