Rendering a camera view with a black image

Ok that could sound quite strange!

I need to render a Camera view without showing anything. The camera will move along the animation but nothing must be seen. I need this in order to add a video post effect on the background.

Now I have obtain this result hiding every object and turning off every light. However that's not a good way. I could also add a black plane in front of the camera but, again, that's not good.

Any suggestion?

If hiding all of hte objects does not work for you, try this:

Open a new max scene.
Click 'merge' and select the scene that has the camera in it.
Pick only the camera from the object list and merge it in by itself.
You can then change your view to the camera view.

All you have now is a scene with just the cmaera in it.

I hope that this option works for you.

This is a good idea, will max export also all animations about camera?

Yes.

When you merge in another max scene into the one that you are using, then all attributes of the objects merge in as well. (i.e. animations, materials, modifiers, etc...)\

FYI--This process is not an export per se...it is more of a merging of files. Exporting max scenes to other formats is a whole new subject.

Thank you a lot.

I am trying to render a file but after it's done the whole avi file is pitch black, I can barely see logo in background tt's faint in the background with no color but black? Its a logo with reflection on a flat plane, I am not sure how to do the render setup for this, any suggestions?

I think that you should open a new thread because here the problem is another one.

However, do not render .avi files. Render single frames in .tiff (or other format) and then combine them to get the movie. You can render a single frame per time in order to see if it looks good.

Maybe you've to increase some lights multiplier.
