real 3D movies - using tridef software & future 3D Blu-ray specs

In short, I have a Mitsu DLP with 3d glasses and tridef software hooked to my PC. the tridef media player plays 3d movies as long as the left eye is above the right eye in the movie file. so my question is, I have a sample animation rendered as 2 seperate avi files, a left eye.avi and a right eye, avi. i would like to know how to combine them so they are stacked one over the other.

i did a sample by applying the 2 movies as animated texture to 2 blocks, one above the other, and it worked! but the rendering got really blocky as if the resolution got worse.

is there a better way:
1. to have max render one camera and composite it over the other camera, or
2. to combine the movie one on top of the other?

FYI the new Bluray 3D spec can be seen here...http://hdguru.com/3d-hdtv-and-hdmi-explained/1336/

while the spec i am trying to accomplish is here http://www.tridef.com/media/player/guide/3d-file-naming-conventions.html and i am specifically looking to have max automatically make the nail-ab.jpg except as a movie.

thanks in advance..
