Using the pc mouse to capture movement?
on Feb 16, 2010 at 12:07:46 am

I understand that it is possible to use the pc mouse (hand movement) to add realistic, and hand-held motion to a camera or an object in 3ds max. I know that this is done by using the "motion capture" function in "max", but each time i have clicked on this app in the past, I have gotten the message "No MIDI device installed/detected" -or something like that.

Now I have a shot that needs some subtle, but realistic hand-held motion, and this sounds like the perfect solution.

Short version: I want to animate the 3ds max 3d camera with my hand movements, via the pc mouse. can anyone tell me exactly how to do this? I am completely new to this particular method...so no detail is to small.

Thanks in advance for any help! it is much appreciated:)
