I'm trying to fire a missile from a plane. For the first part, the missile is parented to the plane and goes where the plane goes. In the second part, it is fired. Somehow, I'd like to get rid of the parenting relationship so that the missile's position/rotation are independent of the plane.
This must be a newbie question, right? Have had a hard time finding anything on google.
Use a link constraint. You can then link the object to many different objects. I would set up some dummies in the scene that are parented to the plane and whatever object the missile hits. By using the link constraint, you can animate the link between these dummies. This should help.
