I am somewhat new to 3d max.
I have a model with 10 colors from ProE.
I export as a vrml to 3d max.
Everything looks cool in 3d max.
When I 3dmax export as a 3ds it says too many materials, 256 max.
It created a material for every surface during the model import.
There were only 10 colors to start with in the original model.
Is there a fix or a way to mitigate this in some way?
Can I set a limit on the # of materials before or after import?
Join surfaces but keep single material somehow?
