To transparent or not to transparent...

Hi guys,

Ok, firstly, apologies - I haven't used max much and this is probably a stupid question, but I'd really appreciate any help!

I'm trying to create two objects that intersect, but I want to be able to see the geometry and shading on both materials. If it's any help, one is a sine diagram extruded, and the other is a sine diagram revolved (like a ripple) and I want to see the shading when they're at the same height and imposed over each other (hope that makes sense!). I tried using both architectural and standard materials and just turning down the opacity or turning up the transparency, but I could still only see one side of the geometry.

If anyone could tell me how they would achieve this, it would really help.

Thanks!

If I understand your question correctly, I think that you just need to turn on the "2 Sided" switch in the material editor for each of your materials.
