we do make a cinema spot for an item with a rubber surface. the 3d artist did put a lot of detail in the surface, which looks great in closeups, but when rendered in a little distance, a lot of noise happens inside the surface.
i know that this is due to the amount of detail, and that the program decides on which detail to show for each frame differently, creating this noise...
i know that in C4D the render settings in "geometry" can be changed from "still" to "animation", so that this effect is minimized..
what can we do inside 3dsmax??
reduce polygons? is there a filter like in C4D?
please help. it is quite urgent!

What I understand from your description is, due to too much detailing and some patterns; there are some noisy results when camera comes to some specific distance and angle..... if it is so then I think you try this.
I guess In 3ds max you can play with little settings in render dialogue, where filter, noise control, antialiase settings are available.
