rpf vs. transparency
on Jan 17, 2008 at 9:21:21 pm

Ive been messing with rpf in max9 -> combustion4.

How do i render a plane with a transparency (i.e.) a plane that is using opacity to look like a cloud. and still have it usefull with rpf??

Everything about the cloud plane (except transparency) shows up as a plane instead of the cloud. Is there a way to mix the transparency g-buffer with the z-depth g-buffer to create depth of field??

I've been looking for a solution for this for awhile. I use v-ray and they have a wire color output option so I've been using that in conjunction with the z depth for a bad but usable result for DOF effects in AE. I just can't seem to get the Alpha information to output on the geometry for z-depth / object id .. well any g-buffer really.

Sorry for no answer but at least your not alone and I hope someone knows what to do :D anyone??
