I constantly use max's in built starfield system, using video post and effects, however I have been told you can create a space background by creating a sphere and applying the image to the sphere. I have done this and found the image to be very blurry and out of focus, the background has a purple haze to it and a few stars. No matter how much i scale the sphere down it still ooks bad. So how can i sort this in the material editor? I don't need to do an UVW unwrap

When doing Starfield in MAX by using a sphere with a starfield on it, I've found that you must use a short focal length on the camera, the shorter the better. Longer focal lengths seem to blur the starfield no matter how large the sphere.
