I'm new to 3ds max. can someone direct me on how to create halloween pumpkin with internal light that simulates the candle? I will need to export it with alpha chanel in order to use it in Abode After Effects.

I Googled "how to make a pumpkin in 3ds max" and came across this
"Make a Sphere with a dozen segments.
Convert to editable poly.
Select 1 of the edges going from top to bottom.
Use ring and loop to select all of the remaining vertical edges.
Use the extrude function on the edges, and set them to extrude into the pumpkin, with a relatively thin base(width)
Select the top pole vertex, use soft selection them move it so that the top flattens a bit. Repeat for bottom pole vertex.
Add a noise modifier to make the shape irregular.
Apply a meshsmooth modifier and see how it looks.
For carving a face I would suggest this method:
Collapse the pumpkin object meshsmooth and all down to an e-poly
This will produce a hi polycount mesh, but now if we use shapemerge, it will have cleaner results due to the mesh density.
Create spline for the pumpkins face( I used illustrator and imported them)
Align them with the pumpkin
Use shapemerge to project the splines onto the pumpkin(use cookie cutter so you can remove the sections)
Once you have cut the face, you can clean up the stray vertices, and use shift drag to give the openings you created some depth."
